The Genomics Society at UVa aims to promote genomics and science research. We hope that our organization can be an initial step in helping students find their passion and interests for science/genomics.

Workshops:

We give monthly workshops covering topics in Computational Biology and Wet lab techniques. Some of our past workshops include computational sequence analysis of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, handling mice, and cell culture.

Guest Speakers:

Experts from industry and academia give insights into the field of genomics.

Future Goals:

Once the COVID pandemic is over, we hope to provide hands-on opportunities where students can do basic cell culture work.
